Grooming that comes to you

Traditional grooming salons involve car journeys, waiting rooms, and time spent alongside other anxious animals. For many pets — particularly those who are nervous, elderly, or simply not used to unfamiliar environments — this experience is stressful before the groom even begins.

Mobile grooming removes most of those stressors. The van comes to you. Your pet is groomed in a calm, one-to-one environment at home, without the noise and unpredictability of a busy salon. For many owners, the difference in their pet's demeanour is noticeable from the very first appointment.

Familiar surroundings

Your pet stays in the comfort of their known environment, reducing anxiety from the start.

One-to-one attention

No other dogs, no waiting cages, no noise from multiple sessions happening at once.

Convenient for you

No travel, no waiting, no pick-up window. The appointment fits around your day.

Quick tips between appointments

Brush in the direction of growth

Always brush with the natural lie of the coat, not against it. Brushing against the grain can cause skin irritation and discomfort, particularly on sensitive areas like the belly.

Only use pet-specific shampoo

Human shampoos — including baby shampoo — are formulated for a different skin pH than dogs and cats. Use only products specifically designed for pets, and rinse very thoroughly.

Handle paws daily from puppyhood

Gently touching and holding paws from a young age makes nail trims, paw inspections, and grooming considerably less stressful for both pet and groomer throughout their life.

Check ears weekly

Healthy ears are clean, light pink, and have no strong odour. Dark discharge, an unusual smell, or frequent head-shaking should prompt a vet visit rather than a grooming appointment.

Trim nails regularly

Nails that click on hard floors are already too long. Regular trims — every three to four weeks for most dogs — prevent the quick from extending further into the nail and becoming harder to manage.

Keep grooming positive

Positive reinforcement during grooming builds long-term confidence. A calm moment followed by a small treat or gentle praise teaches your pet that grooming is a safe, pleasant routine.

Things people often ask

We arrive at your home in a fully equipped grooming van. The van contains everything needed for a full grooming session — bathing facilities, drying equipment, grooming tables, and all tools. Your pet is groomed in the van while you are at home. There is no need to travel, wait in a salon, or arrange a pick-up time.
It is often a better choice for anxious pets. There is no car journey to an unfamiliar place, no waiting room with other stressed animals, and no cage time. Sessions can be paced to suit your pet, and the familiar surroundings of home help many nervous animals stay considerably calmer than they would in a salon environment.
We currently cover Rugeley and a range of surrounding Staffordshire towns including Lichfield, Cannock, Burntwood, Hednesford, Stafford, and nearby villages. If you are unsure whether we reach your area, please do get in touch and we will let you know.
A short walk beforehand can help dogs arrive with some of their energy spent. Avoid feeding a large meal in the two hours before the session. Bring your pet to the van calmly — no rushing or excitement. If your pet has any known anxieties, health conditions, or sensitivities, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Yes. We have a dedicated senior pet grooming service that takes into account joint sensitivity, thinner skin, and lower tolerance for standing for long periods. Sessions for older pets are adapted to be gentler and are often carried out in stages with breaks where needed.
We always assess matting before beginning a session and will explain the options. In many cases, mats can be carefully worked through. Severe matting that is close to the skin may need to be clipped out, as attempting to brush through it can cause pain and skin trauma. We will always discuss the kindest approach with you first.
